A group of five stage one Diploma of Event Management students (Anita Tsui, Leah Bettin, Julia Buceto, Rita Ngu, Tanya Nguyen) assisted in organising a Great Chefs Dinner on Saturday 26th of May 2018. For this event, Jeffrey Tan and friends; Ikuei Arakane, Michael Lambie and Sonia Anthony joined efforts to raise funds for the Australian Culinary Federation Young Chefs Club. To date, chef Jeffrey Tan has already raised more than 4 million dollars towards various foundations through his organisation Cooking for Charity.
96 guests attended on the evening, for the four course meal with matching wines sponsored by Rutherglen Estate, and canapes. An introduction to each meal was given by the chef who created it. The theme was Greenery Night based on the organic theme of Australian Culinary Federation and represents the growing young chefs. Most of materials were from Angliss Raingarden, including the herbs and plants from the herbal garden, which adds natural vibe for the dinner and makes William Angliss stand out.
The night was a success and the guests gave positive feedback. The student chefs were given the chance to learn from some very skilled chefs and it was a great experience for the event management team and the wait staff involved. A lot of money was raised and it was and enjoyable night for all.
