The Diploma of Event Managements students enjoyed a farewell dinner at Piedra Negra.
After a fantastic time exploring Singapore venues & attractions, and tasting many local delicious flavours, we couldn’t believe the trip was coming to an end!
Thank you to all students for being such a terrific group ! 😊
After we went to Marina Bay Sands observation deck and ate some lunch, we made our way over to Gardens by the Bay.
Gardens by the Bay gave us a beautiful insight to what Singapore nature has to offer. Surrounding us from all angles were bright high top solar panel trees starting from the bottom which was a bright green bushes, eventually making its way up to the head which was the solar panel
The gardens also offer anyone with the chance to go through a walk high in the trees exposing you to breath taking views.
Unfortunately Veronica and myself didn’t make it to the waterfall, however the rest of the team went and were very pleased to share with us how much fun they had.
Had a super fun time at Universal Studios.
The Events students spent the last of their free time at Universal Studios here in Singapore. It was heaps of fun, with several rides and visiting all the world’s. Such as Far Far Away, Sci-Fi, Ancient Egypt, Hollywood, New York and Madagascar.
After the Breakfast with Orang’utans we got the chance to explore the zoo itself. We split off into two groups and started our little adventure, walking through the Tropics, Australasia, Wild Africa and more.
While one group navigated the asphalt to Wild Africa, the other found The Splash Safari, where we got to watch a Sea Lion perform, ‘Phillip’ was very shy at times but also extremely proud of himself when he performed his tricks. Those who saw the Splash Safari, sat in the Splash Zone, where our feet got absolutely drenched by Phillip.
We all boarded the bus and took a 25 minute trip to the top of mount faber (which was really just a hill!) to board our cable car to Sentosa Island. We had to split into 2 different cars and started our journey over to the island. The trip took roughly 20 minutes and the scenes of forest, city and sea all together were beautiful.
On our last day in Singapore we were all excited to have breakfast with the Orangutans at Singapore Zoo.
We all had to wake up earlier than the previous days but it was definitely worth it.
At the Zoo we had a buffet breakfast and were allocated an amazing table right next to all of the animal action.
At 9:30am the Orangutans came down from the exhibit to have breakfast. There were 5 of them including a 2 year old and 2 month old Orangutan.
It was incredible to watch the Orangutans enjoy their food and have fun. Some of us could watch them all day.
We all had an amazing opportunity to have a photo with the Orangutans.
It was a great way to start our final day at Singapore Zoo.
On night four we went to Lau Pa Sat which is a food market held in a heritage building. It had many different cuisines such has Indonesian, Malaysia and Korean. The specialty dish at Lau Pa Sat was satay. As a group we shared a satay platter, which were all made outside on various barbecue, and then we got individual meals from different vendors. After dinner half of the group made their way to shops and the others went to the bar Blu Jazz.
On day 2 of our trip we visited Chinatown and Maxwell Food Centre. We started our journey throughout Chinatown at a Hindu Temple. Our tour guide Karen taught us about the different Gods and the story behind Ganesh. We then made our way through markets where we learnt about Samsui, who were women that worked in constructions sites until their late 70s. They wore red hats to indicate who they were. We then made our way through more markets where Karen showed us her favourite childhood fruit, durian, which is the worst smelling fruit in the world. A few students tried the fruit and all were not impressed by the taste or smell.
Today the group went to the Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck to view the iconic attractions Singapore has to offer. From the deck we could see the Gardens by the Bay, ArtScience Museum, Singapore Flyer, Esplanade Theatre and the Singapore Grand Prix stage being constructed. The 31°C day made being outdoors on the deck a bit of a struggle but everyone enjoyed themselves and the sights.
